I watched "Hidden Strike" (2023), and it’s exactly what you’d expect: silly, brainless action with tons of acrobatics and ridiculous explosions. They even threw in a truck with a jet engine, because why not? The story follows the classic hostage-movie formula and is decent enough, but the plot is so simple and straightforward you could probably use it as a level. Jackie Chan still has some fantastic moves, dishing out strikes and kicks like it’s second nature. John Cena is great in the fight scenes too. But when it comes to acting, neither of them really shines, and it left me wanting more substance from their performances. That said, it’s a decent action flick that’ll keep you entertained for a couple of hours. However, there’s nothing memorable about it that would make me want to watch it again. Fun for a one-time watch, but not much more than that. |
