What is the not to like? Brainless action, a great car, Jason Statham, and a bit more brainless action. A classic action plot, that yet again shows that breaking your rules brings you into all kinds of trouble. A very simple plot, but for action like this it works. Statham is perfect for this role as an ex-military man working to serve himself doing illicit transportation. François Berléand also does quite a good and believable job playing the French police detective. A lot of the fighting and shooting seems silly, especially the greased-in-oil fight. That is just ridiculous but yet what you would expect from a movie like this. As ever Statham uses every available excuse to take off his shirt. If you are into movies with constant action, car chases and lots of fighting without any deeper thoughts, this might be a great a movie for you, as it is for me. |
