This was one of the three first JCVD movies I saw. The relatively high rating of 6 out of 10 is primarily because of the nostalgia.
The story is classic and the plot is highly predictable, but when this movie came out back in '89, I guess this was still new and exciting. Today it is a cult classic, that you really need to watch, if you are into the genre.
The few fights are pretty decent, and Van Damme does a good job. The Muscles from Brussels is in great shape.
If you like JCVD you absolutely need to watch this. This movie is the epicenter of the success he experienced during the 90s.
