Classic brilliant Disney family animation movie.

I must have watched this movie at least 20 times on VHS as a youngster with various family and friends. Now that I am a parent I am regularly watching it on Blue-Ray with my daughter when she is demanding “More lion! More lion!”.
It is a good Disney animation movie. It is very well done, the craftsmanship of the animators is brilliant and is not half bad either. However is does have the classic Disney loss of parent (sorry for the spoiler), which I now skip over for my daughter’s (and my own) sake. Why is it always death? It is so permanent. I know it is a cruel world, but kids will learn that soon enough.

Hans Zimmer did the general soundtrack, but Elton John did a lot of the songs here, and in general it is really brilliant. Several of the songs are actually worth listening to without watching the movie.

In general a good Disney animation movie, which is a must see for any kid who is ready for strong Disney movies.
