I do not think I get this one.

This movie was hyped up pretty good and I also heard a few rumors that it was quite good, but I just do not see it.
The complete setup is impressive, the tension is so thick you could cut it with a knife, visually it is fantastic, but there is ABSOLUTELY NO PLOT. I mean it could literally have been on the back of a dirty paper napkin. And this exactly is what kills all the poetics about the singing brutal cop, the oedipus complex that torments Julian etc., and thereby also my interest. But maybe it is just me (and several other users around the web) that is not bright enough to see the brilliance.

It is hard for me to judge the acting performance by the cast as all major parts in a way seem almost reluctant to let anything show. I guess this is part of the theme and everything, but when you do not get the plot it just adds to the confusion (and frustration).

If you are an expert on fancy movies you might like this, also if you are a fan of recent works by Nicolas Winding Refn this might probably be something for you. If you, like me, mostly watch movies to be entertained (I know, primitive right?), you might want to go for something else.
