Funny vampire movie with a nice twist of Tim Burton.

The plot is classic for a scary fairy tale about witches and vampires. Unwanted love, curses and dark magic is all around. You immediately recognise what is going to happen to most of the characters during the film, but I still found it entertaining to watch.

Tim Burton and Johnny Depp has a long history together (this being the eighth movie) and with this movie Depp is pushed to another extend of his acting skills. In my opinion his interpretation of the character is a bit too comical. I was hoping for a more serious and dramatic role.
It has been a while since I have seen Johnny Lee Miller in a movie, and he plays a perfect bastard in this one.
Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton is an item and no matter what you think about Burton constantly bringing his wife into his movies, she is always perfect for the role, the mood and the style. She is really brilliant in this role as the drunken psychiatrist.
Michelle Pfeiffer is good but not memorable.
Eva Green does a great job playing the evil witch. She is enticing yet very scary!

The mood, style and settings are very Tim Burton-link, but somehow more light than some of his other stuff. Obviously Danny Elfman did the music, which sets the score pretty well.

If you like Tim Burton and/or Johnny Depp, this is a must see. If you like vampire fantasy movies, this is acceptable, but a bit too much on the comical side.
