Brilliant movie!!

I love the way the plot keeps twisting, turning, flipping, folding and then coming back around on itself. A simple story really but with an infinite number of surprises added to spice everything up just perfectly.

Impressive acting by DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg, Martin Sheen and Jack Nicholson.

Good action effects. A bit heavy on the blood splatter, but not too bad.

Watch it if you like gangster movies, or brilliant plots or similar.

Right up my alley!

After movies like Shutter Island, The Aviator and Gangs of New York Scorsese and DiCaprio has kind of proven that they are a dream team. And counting in this epic gangster action drama, that is now solid fact. I still lack to see the original version of the story, since The Departed is a remake of the 2002 Hong Kong film Infernal Affairs. But I don't care much about wether it's remake or not, as long as it's a good movie. And this is definitely top 5 gangster's movies out there.

The plot twisting and the roles that are played up against each other in several ways is done beautifully. And the movie also goes all the way and takes it chances with different ending.

DiCaprio is one of my favorite actors, and he's brilliant in this, but he's also being enabled by some other very talented people.

I noticed the way they use music. It's quite different. More than a few times the play some track loud for like thirty seconds to emphasize a situation, but then to tear the viewer back into the movies' plot they just cut off the music, and it makes you aware in a totally different way.

Any way… good stuff!
