Movie reviews for The Drop

2014-12-29  Peter Buchardt: 8 out of 10

Featuring two of my favorite actors/actreses I knew that this had to be good!

The movie is rather slow, but that can really bring something to the table aswell. Prt of the plot is where Bob finds a dog that's been left in a garbage can. It's cute and well meant, but it's also a bit too good to be true how the plot evolves around this dog. Reading up on it, I found that the movie is based on the short story: "Animal Rescue" And with that title on sudddenly understand why this part of the story is so centralized.

Tom Hardy acts super as the quite, laid back bartender Bob Saginowski. It seems like Hardy is choosing new types of role to engage in for every movie he does, and he does them all superply.
The obvisiuly troubled Nadia is played by Noomi Rapace, who I kind of fell in love with in the Millennium-trilogy, acts so good as a US imigrant, and also as the tough and carefull lonely woman(almost like the Millennium-trilogy).

The movie features some very nice twists and turns, and I guess it's basic premise is that we might all have to do bad things in order to keep the good things.

Oh and by the way! I love the cover/poster!
