Quite an interesting story, apparently somewhat based on the truth. I like the story line and the way the plot keeps thickening while several strings get entwined along the way. It is well written and keeps a steady momentum. I am not fully convinced by Kiera Knightley playing Domino. To me she does not convey enough tenacity or strength of character. Mickey Rourke, however, feels born to play a grumpy and hard boiled bounty hunter, and Delroy Lindo is perfect as the set up guy behind it all. There is obviously a lot of shooting and a few explosions in this movie, and they are all done all right. What I did not like production wise was the handling of the camera and the constant cutting between scenes. It was super stressful and did not add anything good to the experience, at least for me. If you like bounty hunter stories this is alright but could have been better. If you enjoy complex stories told in a complex way then this might be a hit for you. I am somewhere in between, hence my rating slightly above average. |
