Set in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro, Outlaw, original title Bandida: An Numera Um, dives deep into the hardcore world of crime, with a dramatic story that you know from the start can only lead to something bad. The development of the main character and her boyfriend is compelling and keeps you invested throughout. Not understanding Portuguese made it harder to fully assess the acting, but there weren’t any moments that felt awkward or out of place, so I’d say the cast delivered a solid performance. The shootout scenes, though frequent, were nothing special—just average at best. If you’re into stories about South American drug-dealing gangsters or enjoy seeing a strong female lead rise through the chaos, this one’s for you. Just be ready for all the dialogue in Portuguese, which adds authenticity but might require subtitles if you're not fluent.
