Based on the short description from my streaming service I thought that was going to be a perfect brainless action movie for my hangover. It actually turned out to be a brilliant drama. Even though the plot is rather simple, the story really gets you hooked, and the actors have basis for delivering a good performance. And they really do! I am in general a big fan of both Christian Bale and Woody Harrelson, but here they both deliver an excellent performance. In continues to amaze me how Harrelson is able to play both good and evil characters, and his performance as DeGroat in this movie makes the culprit extremely scary. If you are looking for action this movie has some and it does get pretty rough, but it is actually the drama that is the center. I really enjoyed it. |
