Lots of slapstick humour in swimsuits. To be honest the movies does have an impressive story line for a B-movie, but absolutely nothing marvelous through. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is actually pretty cool as Mitch Buchannon, even though he is very different than the Hasselhoff edition. This Matt Brody character is rather annoying so I felt annoyed by the actor Zac Efron as well. Maybe he was just doing a good job. I am not sure. Otherwise the movie also featured lots of babes in tight swimsuit moving around in slow motion, so what's not to like, right? The stunts are pretty tame but over the top all the same. Several of the special effects seem pretty extensive, but still feels cheap all the same. You should watch this only if you feel like brain dead entertainment and enjoyed the original TV series back in the 90ies. I don't think I will ever watch this again. However, if there is a sequel I might watch it, if it pops up on my streaming service. |
