I do not know how this happened, but I think this is a boring movie. It really is a very slow movie and not at all exciting. It is not that it was lacking action and actually the only thing that got mildly exciting was the fights between Batman and Superman, but maybe that is just my sadistic nature towards DC Comics. It also had lots of extremely violent monster fighting, but in my opinion that did not really help as it was severely overdone. Jesse Eisenberg playing Lex Luthor was good, scary and maybe just a little bit too much like the Joker? I know this was movie was not about Wonder Woman, but in my opinion she was the most exciting character and very well played by Gal Gadot. I wish she had more screen time and I am looking forward to seeing a movie centered around her instead. This is the first Batman movie I have seen featuring Ben Affleck as the dark knight, and despite all the talk about him not being suitable for the role, I still think he did an acceptable job. It was not perfect, but neither was several of the earlier Batmen. In my eyes Christian Bale is the only true Batman. The movie had a nice way to briefly introduce the other characters of the DC Justice League. Sort of a teaser making us expect great thing of the future. Frequent followers of this page knows that I love superhero movies, however this movie really just did not impress me. The fact that is it a superhero movie does make it worth seeing, and it was not downright horrible either, but I have seen (a lot) better movies. |
