I thought I was going to watch yet another American tribute to it's own sports heroes, and I guess that's kind of the case, but it's way more than that. The part of the movie that pays tribute is actually very hard to find.

No the story is centered around the relationsship between Mark Schultz and his older brother David Schultz, and the slightly unhealthy relations between Mark and his benefactor, the millionair, John du Pont.

Since I'm not a huge fan of "feel bad movies", the eerie and dreadfull truth of the movie isn't what did it for me. No I really enjoyed the acting. Again I'll mention the main charachters...

Mark Schultz, played by Channing Tatum, does a superb job of almost disapearing into himself as the carefull and hesitant Mark Schultz.
David Schultz, played by Mark Ruffalo also delivers a believable performance. I'm not a wresteling expert, but all the segments featuring the sport itself is very believable in my honest opinion. The looks on there faces and even the way they walk differently is mezmerising!
Steve Carell as John du Pont, is in it's own league. I actually first thought it was Carell, based on his voice and the look of his nose, but during the film I slowly began to doubt that is was him. After watching it I was suprised the learn that my first intuition was correct. That's how good the acting was!

The movie is a great insight into a real life triumph and tragedy.

If you enjoy a good drama, you'll enjoy this movie!
