This turned out to be good action entertainment overall. The story is somewhat simple, yet all the dependencies make it feel complex. The plot is straight but has a series of interesting jumps that really keep me on my toes. Tom Hardy is fantastic in a role like this. He plays it so well that you almost want to be that crooked cop yourself. The rest of the cast is not very memorable, unfortunately. The first three quarters of the film are pretty harmless, but then the violence really starts to take off. From that point on the fight scenes just get more and more crazy. The music is very intense, to a point where it actually becomes annoying in my opinion. If you enjoy a decent crooked cop and Chinese mafia movie, this is absolutely something for you. I would rate it seven out of ten. |
