This is a super intense and well made movie that got me hooked right from the beginning. My pulse was racing, my emotions were thrown around, and my hair was standing on end. This is scary as hell and highly relevant given the current geopolitical situation.
You get to watch the same plot three times from three different perspectives, each running for about 40 minutes. The ending, however, is a total letdown. I kept hoping for more when the credits started rolling. In my opinion, they could have added another 40 minutes showing the aftermath. Coitus interruptus!
Both Idris Elba and Rebecca Ferguson delivered great performances. Their roles are well written, and they execute them perfectly. If I were to mention one more actor, it would be Tracy Letts for his performance as well.
There are a lot of military activities, procedures, protocols, and so on, which I have no way of assessing for accuracy. However, as a layman, I was convinced and impressed.
If you are concerned about the current global nuclear weapons situation, you probably should not watch this movie. If, on the other hand, that is what interests you, this movie is a must see. It is absolutely brilliant, scary as hell, super intense, and well made, but it has a very bad ending, which caused a two point drop in my rating. I give it seven out of ten.
