I am going to the Island!

I have heard both good and bad things about this movie, and after my streaming service had recommended me to see for over a month now I finally got around to it, and I am glad that I did!

The whole setup with the contamination and control of population etc. actually works quite good in my opinion. It had me wondering how, what and why until it was finally revealed. That was quite good.

After the mystery of their existence is solved the story goes on to sort out everything. This part is also acceptable though a bit on the light side and the final bit is just too easy.

Ewan McGregor does a fair job playing both confused, curious and over confident in the same movie. I do not see him as an action movie actor, but then again his character is not that action hero like anyway, so I guess it fits all right.

Scarlett Johansson is very beautiful! In her recent movies like Iron Man 2 and The Avengers, where she plays Black Widow, we see her in more action oriented roles than normal for her. In this movie, which is several years prior to those, we get a small taste of her abilities as an action hero. I might be biased, as I have a bit of a crush on her, but I really think that she does a good job playing her part. I am a bit sad that we never got to see her playing the supermodel part of her character.

Sean Bean dies. Ups! Spoiler alert! Spoiler alert! Sorry! Also I am quite confused that he is running the whole organisation but still does some of the dirty work at all levels. Anyway I like him portraying his doctor/psychiatrist part of his character. That creeped me out in a friendly way.

Steve Buscemi is crazy and entertaining as always, yet a bit less than normal in this movie.

The graphical part of this movie is quite impressive. I would bet it looks really crisp in high definition on a great screen.

Watch this if you like light and non-dystopian sci-fi, a good story or if you (like me) are in love with Scarlett Johansson.
