This movie just had too little story to tell. It is still a bit of an interesting thought. It is sort of an "origins movie", even though I believe it to be quite far from the intentions of Bram Stoker.
The time pressure is part of the concept for the movie, but it becomes a hindrance for what possibly could have been a good story. Everything becomes (even more) unrealistic, as it all happens in just a few days.

Luke Evans does a decent job playing Count Dracula. He makes the anguish seem believable.
Charles Dance is also pretty good at playing the "master vampire". I wish we would have seen way more of his character and heard his story.

The effects for the vampire are not half bad, and the replication of the people to generate a vast army also worked well in my opinion.

The movie ends with a plug for a second movie, which apparently takes place in our time. I wish it would have been more medieval time, as modern vampire movies rarely turn out good.

For a vampire movie it is not bad, but it does lack a enough story to make it anything good. Watch it, if you like vampires and/or big battles.
