I did not have high hopes, but I did expect more than this.
I played the video game, which this movie is based on, A LOT as a kid. I loved it for two reasons; the violence and the music. This movie features some of the violence, but absolutely none of the music. That was a major letdown.
The Rock is decent at his role - a very big guy knowing nothing else than following orders. Karl Urban is also very good, but at all as I would have expected his character to be.
The space travel, teleportation, extreme elevators, the weapons etc. are all pretty close to the video game, but still just a bit off, and in my opinion too much to awaken the feeling of nostalgia despite the potential.
In my opinion I do not see any reason to recommend this movie unless you are a fanatic fan of the video game or if you have 1 h 45 min to throw away.
