I agree with Mr. Risgaard! It's very good and has some nice twists to the whole vampire genre. It's definately a chick-flick, but you can easily sort out all the romance and watch it for the tale of vampires in modern society.

The worst thing in the movie was some of the effects, which didn't really impress me, but then again some of the effects looked very convincing. I guess it impossible to make it look good that a humanoid moves with speed x 100 ;)

Worth seeing YEAH!

This is an interesting vampire movie, in the way that it brings a new perspective on the whole vampire myth. It does in many ways not match with my personal idea of vampires though - why do they sparkle? This does not completely destroy the movie though. The teeage emo trip is far worse.
The cast is fairly good. The "young" vampire Edvard is particularly interesting. His almost emo styled mood is a bit strange at first, but given the explanation, you kind of accept it, and then you get it bored with it.
Kristen Stewart has one expression throughout the move. I am not impressed of her performance.

As it is based on a series of books, I was hoping that they will make more in the same genre, but after the movie has ended Ihave had more than enough teenage nonsense.

If you are into the vampire theme, this movie might be worth your the time. It is a highly popular movie and a lot of people loved it.
