Dark, somber and very intense.
Based on a book by Stephen King, which gives you some, if not high, expectations to the story, and it does deliver. I always enjoy a good post apocalyptic movie and I like the idea of several parallel worlds. It is just a pity that we do not get to see any of the other worlds. However, with all the details of this movie, it might have been better if it were made as a TV series instead.

Normally I get disappointed when the lead role is played by a young kid, but in this case the young Tom Taylor actually did a decent job. Idris Elba is amazing as the Gunslinger, and McConaughey is good as the bad guy.

Beautiful imagery very well shot and also very well combined with the CGI effects.

The movie reminds me of the video game Fallout and makes me want to read the books.
It is very recommendable if you enjoy post-apocalyptic and sci-fi movies.
