Dark pointless action with an evil twist.
The story is not that great, and with regards to “kidnapped my daughter? I will find you!” movies, this is no way near Taken, and several other movies in that genre for that matter.
The action is hard hitting and violent, but nothing extraordinary. The cinder block through the window trick was quite impressive though. It must have taken a troubled mind to think that one up.
With Nicolas Cage as the main star of this movie, I hope that no one expects any particular good acting. If I said from average and down it would be generous, I think. If you do not expect much you will not be disappointed.
If I should say anything good about this movie, and I think I ought to, it would be that the dark plot taking a few twists to a level even darker that I would have expected from a movie like this really impressed me. Trying to avoid any spoilers, I think that I will leave it at saying that this is not a feel good movie.
