I might be a bit biased, as I do not like the director. He uses way too many artistic pauses and artsy shots, which to me destroys the movie. Furthermore a lot of the movie does not make any sense on the primary level and if you go deeper and do a little analysis of it, I just get annoyed with how farfetched it really is. The theme of the movie is right up my alley, but the style is a road block for me. I might be a simpleton and ignorant for finer arts in movies, but this is just not my style.
The only reason I did not rate this movie with 1 star is that I always enjoy seeing christians getting beaten up by vikings.
If you like the style of the director, you might enjoy this as it is pulled all the way to the max. To me it almost feels like two wasted hours watching it.
