Punching the aliens right in the face!

I really liked the story in the movie. It was classic giant alien monster raging across our planet, but the fact that they have been here all the time is quite brilliant.
How it was translated into a movie plot is a whole different matter though. It had more than a little lameness, silly unexplained shortcuts instead of explaining things and all the humor was awfully misplaced.

The acting was not good, but not too bad either. Medium I would say.

A movie like this is highly effect driven and it really needs to be seen in a movie theater or on a big screen with thundering high sound volume in a home theater. However there were moments where even I (a humble lover of sci-fi and action movies) caught myself think “okay, this is getting a bit too much”.

This is a good movie, and if you like this genre, it is absolutely worth watching. Aliens fighting humans in robots - what is not to like?
