Just watched M. Night Shyamalan 2008 movie The Happening, and must conclude that this might be a bit better, even though they both carry a lot of resemblance in plot, humor and pace.
First of all you have to be into alien movies to like this. I like alien/monster movies that dares to show their "creatures" and this one does, which works quit allright for it.
Most of the movie is centered around a father, his brother and two kids, which also is ok, except some of the acting/writing of conversations are a bit far off, so it becomes too good to be true.
Even though this movie "explains" way more than for instance The Happening, it still leaves some loose ends, and it suits the movie well, since I don't want some Hollywood director to mess with my general view on sci-fi and the universe(mostly because I wouldn't be able to take it serious if it happened.)
