Interesting drama and actually a good poker movie. Despite being slightly predictable, this movie does have a good plot. You are in no way in doubt of what is going to happen, but it is well written and well acted out as well, so that does not really matter. Aside from that if you like poker (which recommendable for watching this movie), you actually get a few good tips on how to play, and also an easy walk through of the most basic parts of the game without being too detailed. Another good thing is that you actually get to see loft of good games. In general the movie has a good cast and also a good set of characters. I like Edward Norton, and despite his character being annoying, he does a good job here. My favorite character is Knish, and Joey Turturro is perfect for the role. Malkovich is nothing less than brilliant, and his portraying of Teddy KGB is just fantastic. This movie made me want to dig out my set of chips and invite the guys over for a poker night. A good movie. |
