Classic Seagal action. This movie might as well have been made back in the 90s when Seagal was at his highest. The only thing that has changed is the upgrade of the equipment. This is not a fantastic masterpiece of a movie, but if you like the 90s style action movies featuring Seagal, this probably is a hit like all the many others. The dialogue is quite poor, and the only thing that is worse is the acting itself. At several point is physically had to uncurl my toes after a particularly horrendous scene. Still this was absolutely what I expected, when I started the movie. That is one of the good things about Seagal movies. You always know what to expect. Like everyone else, though, Seagal is getting older, and despite his still stunning skills at Aikido he seem a bit more passive to me that he used to be. In this movie he teamed up with Steve Austin, an ex-wrestler and a mountain of a man. His style is quite a lot more brutish and not that elegant compared to Seagal, so it is a bit fun team set-up. Their acting performance were roughly at the same level. This is a acceptable modern 90s-style action movie, and if you like those, this could be a fine way to kill time for you. The movie title makes no sense at all by the way. |
