An indie movie with a very intimate feel. April (Katie Holmes) is preparing a thanksgiving meal for her family, that she hasn't seen for years. Her mother, father, grandmother, sister and brother are on their way by car. They all know this will probably be the last time April will see her mother (Patricia Clarkson). That's basically what the story is all about.

It's as simple as it's good. Patricia Clarkson is magnificent as the dying mother and Katie Holmes is great too.

The story is paced quite slowly as the two stories (April cooking & Family driving) play out. There are many similar themes in this and Rachel Getting Married amongst others. If you like the theme of 'wayward daughter' meets 'happy family' then do not miss this one.
