Uhh... what an evil genius! Such style, such perfection! Right from the start you are hit in the head with a bat (quite literally), and from then on you stay on the edge of your seat, tensed by the action! The plot is quite impressive and you, along with Jamie Foxx' character Nick Rice, keep guessing what will happen next. There are a lot of twists and turns, and more than once I was confused who to cheer for. Gerard Butler does an impressive job playing his character Clyde. He first makes you feel enormously sorry for his loss and tragic experience and then also makes you both loath and fear him in a way that will change your viewpoint on him in every following movie you see him in. Good job! I have never been a big fan of Jamie Foxx, but I have to say that he does an acceptable job in this one. The effects in this movie are quite impressive. The exploding/shooting cell phone really made me jump from my seat. This only bad thing about this movie is the ending. With all the tesion building up and the innovative and intricate plot it is a shame that it kind of flat-lines in the end. My rating would have been a number higher, if they had kept the pace all the way through. I watched this movie with a good friend, which is recommendable. It is a strong action thriller with a lot of plot to discuss along the way. One to watch in my book. |

A mix between Se7en and Taken, but not quite as good as any of those - but still a very enjoyable film. I would really have wished for a more clever ending (like Se7en) and I could have given this movie an 8. The ending was a bit like Knowing, but not nearly as bad. It's just a cheap/boring way of not really explaining anything or adding any meaning to all the stuff that the main protagonists have gone through...which is a shame. Other than the slightly cheap ending it's a very entertaining movie well worth a watch. |

when I first saw the trailer for this movie I thought: Well just another revenge movie, but the plot took a bloody turn and I ended up looking forward to see this movie... It was exactly what I expected. Very entertaining, bloody, well played and last but not least not very Hollywood'ish. Here I refer to the way of ´giving both main characters a personality the only few people will like. The plot, when you first learn it, might be kind of predictable, but it will still make you want to see more, and for me I had other hope for the ending =) Very good movie for a cold winter evening... |
