This feels like a very thin bowl of soup, but still decent entertainment. The story places Denzel Washington up against the Italian Mafia on their home turf, yet the plot is more or less straight like an arrow and contains very little substance. You know what will happen and how it will end very early on. He is a good actor, which is lucky, since he is pretty much carrying the whole film on his own. The fight scenes are limited but efficient, and that actually works well for this kind of movie. If you can accept that it is nothing more than a simple feel good action movie, you will likely be entertained. I would rate it six out of ten. |
