A nice story for a youth flick, The Perfect Score is light and easygoing throughout. It’s not a very realistic story, and there are some obvious plot holes conveniently patched over with easy side stories—but it still works as simple entertainment.

A young Chris Evans does a nice job as the ambitious leader, while Scarlett Johansson is perfect as the slightly mysterious and sensual girl. In my opinion, Leonardo Nam overplayed his character a bit, making him too goofy to balance his more serious moments. The rest of the cast wasn’t particularly memorable.

If you enjoy teen or coming-of-age movies, or if you’re dealing with the stress of SATs or other big exams, this one’s pretty good. Personally, I mainly watched it because I’m a fan of Evans and Johansson.
