Yet another installment in the Sniper franchise, Sniper: The Last Stand (2025) feels slightly different from the earlier films, but still delivers more or less what you’d expect. It follows a single mission that quickly turns out to be more complicated than anticipated. Nothing particularly impressive, but it offers some decent entertainment. Chad Michael Collins returns as Beckett, and although he’s getting older, he still does a solid job. I also liked Noxolo Dlamini’s performance—she was convincing and fit her role well. As expected, there’s plenty of gunfire, explosions, and general chaos, but it’s all kept at a reasonable level. I’ve always been a big fan of sniper movies, and while there is some solid sniper action here, I wish there had been a lot more. There’s simply too much close combat for a film with “Sniper” in the title. If you’re into sniper movies, this one’s a maybe. But if you’ve followed the rest of the Sniper franchise, it’s definitely a must-see, as the Beckett character continues to develop. And if you just enjoy tactical squad action, this one isn’t half bad. |
