Released in 2020, Rogue is a poorly written B-rated action movie. It’s unrealistic. It’s stupid. In fact, it’s unrealistically stupid. The story itself isn’t terrible, but it’s so poorly executed that it never really works.

The acting is below average at best across the board. The dialogue is clumsy and full of cliché stereotypes, delivered in a clipped and toe-curling manner.

There are plenty of gunfights, and while they mostly look okay, the bad guys shoot about as accurately as stormtroopers—but luckily, there’s an endless supply of them. The lioness is a mix of CGI and what seems like a stuffed animal, which makes that part… less than impressive.

If you enjoy very simple, brainless action, this might rank as slightly more interesting than boredom. If you’re a big fan of Megan Fox, you might still want to give it a look—but don’t expect a sexy show. She’s all action here, and honestly, probably the least bad part of the film. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend spending your time on this one.
