Not surprising this turned out to be a very simple story, even for a B action movie. The plot runs pretty straight, with only a few minor bumps, and it’s packed with stereotypes that make it feel more awkward than engaging. The action leans heavily into the silly side. There isn’t much room for acting here, and no one really stood out. While there’s obviously a lot of shooting, there’s surprisingly little actual sniper action for a movie carrying that title. Instead, we get an extended hand-to-hand combat scene where it’s painfully obvious that the props are made of rubber and silicone—more embarrassing than thrilling. If you’ve already followed the Sniper franchise, you might still want to check this one out for the sake of completion. For anyone else, though, it’s below-average action at best. |
