This is a mediocre post-tech, post-apocalyptic movie.
The theme, genre and world in general is pretty interesting. The story, however, is a bit boring. That is a shame, because it would have been amazing to explore this world with a great story. Instead, in my opinion at least, by the end I was just waiting for the movie to be over.

Hugo Weaving is a brilliant actor, and he does such a great job at playing a bad guy.
The performance of the rest of the cast is more or less unremarkable. That does nothing to support the lacking story.

The visuals are amazing. The engines, the scenery and the outfits are all very well done. This is what keeps the movie floating in my opinion. So if you are into post-tech, post-apocalyptic steampunk, watch this movie for that bit alone.

Overall a bit of a let down for me for such a big production. Maybe it is targeted for a younger audience? It is based on a young adult novel after all.
