Movie reviews for Metro

2016-12-04  Niels Risgaard Hansen: 6 out of 10

This was marketed as a serious edition of Beverly Hills Cop in rumours, which is a shame. This is actually a decent late 90s action movie, so I see no reason trying to do a spin off on a (rather successful btw) action comedy.
The movie is good. Simple story with a few plot twists as things develop along the line. They have tried to fit a bit of drama into it, which just seems misplaced in my opinion.
Murphy is good at comedy, we all know that, but he is actually also good at serious action as well. I just realised that the bad guy is the same as the bad guy in The Crow. He is quite good at being creepy!
A little over the top effects on the car/tram chase, but the rest is pretty decent for the genre and movie period.
If you like 90s action or Eddie Murphy, this is a good choice for an evening reserved for nothing else.
