Movie reviews for Leon

2011-10-22  Niels Risgaard Hansen: 9 out of 10
One of my all time favorite movies!
I must have watched this one 20 times on VHS, when I was younger, and now I finally got it on DVD - thanks to my favorite online movie-dealer.

The plot is brilliant, and I have always been a sucker for assassins and hitmen. What is great in this movie, is that we actually get to see a regular "hit" before he goes soft. Unfortunately it is only the one, and I would have given the movie a full 10, if they had shown just one more.

Jean Reno is fantastic as the quiet and reclusive hitman Leon, and Gary Oldman is brilliant as the scary corrupt cop Stansfield! It is also funny to see Natalie Portman in one of her first movies.

Everything regarding the sound and special effects are perfect for my taste. Crisp, subtle and not overdone.

If you are a hitman movie fan, this is one to watch! It is good action with a touch of drama, and worth your time. Watch it with friend or alone - it works either way.
