A movie trying to depict the brutality of the Danish prison system. In a sense that is truly succeeded but in the time I'm not sure that was the main goal for the creators of the film. I think it might have been more about showing how human beings can change under pressure, put in new unbearable situations. How it bends and shapes them beyond recognition.

The movie is very realistic and definitely not a feel-good movie, or nothing close to a Hollywood type of movie.

It bares a strong documentary-like feel, and I've been told some of the guards and inmates are real, in the sense that they did work in a prison and has done time.

I kinda like the way it lets a lot of things stay in the unknown, so you have to put background story, the prison system doctrine and other stuff together yourself. But not over-explaining anything, the movie maintains its focus of the main characters and their hardcore disputes and fight for respect.
